Borzoi are for me an ongoing love affair since 1966
I have always been a dog lover but it wasn't until I saw the sign of a shoe brand, Spring 1966, that I found MY breed. The sign depicted a Borzoi in full flight, so noble, such an elegance that I never looked back. One day I would have my own Borzoi!
Meanwhile I collected what I could find, a booklet here, a postcard there, reading as much as I could find in the library books. It took till 1992 before I could welcome my first Borzoi puppy, 9 week old Carina of Snow von Nizjnjaja. I had befriended Gré Roos (Gustopsowaya Borzoi) and together we took her hounds and my Carina to the park for a romp. Upon coming home I saw Carina was missing the company so 6 months later Gustopsowaya's Ruselka's Rostania joined the gang. Unfortunately Carina passed away due to a cardiac arrest 2 months shy of her 3rd B-day and to keep Rostania from being lonely, her nephew Gustopsowaya's Vjerniy Vjertilo came to live with us. From time to time we had "Guest-zoi" staying with us, like Psowaya and Erina. In 2004 I added Boyzoi Kansai'z Flying Dutchman and Silkengirl Kristull Jasmyn at Bon Zoi'z to the pack. Now it could happen that we had 5 Borzoi and 1 Silken to walk, wonderful! But time goes on, Rostania had to be put to sleep Dec. 2005, her nephew a year later, they were almost 13 and 11... Jasmyn followed in April 2007 and Psowaya (white/grey) April 2012, aged 13 so of the 5 dogs in the photo, only Dutchie (red/white) is still with me today....
