Kristull Yasera, D.O.B. January 27 - 2002, Slovenian Veteran Champion 2010

Yasera is one of those happy coincidences in life. When we were in St.Louis to pick up Paladin (May '07) I mentioned my wish to find a female to continue breeding. It was in the very last minute before leaving that Michelle Smith suggested Chris Swilley to part with Yasera since she also had a 1/2 sister she planned to breed shortly. Chris thought this a good idea and we decided to wait till Yasera was in season so she could be bred before coming over. Though a good plan, Yasera refused to comply, when all bitches @ Chris' had their season, not so Yasera. As I did not want to fly in winter, we decided to come over in September and breed Yasera when she would come in season. Well, Murphy was present too, when we met Yasera she turned out to be in season! It took some e-mailing back and forth but little over a week after arriving in Holland we were on our way to Switzerland to mate her to Kristull Elven King, a lovely, small and MDR1 clear male. Their one tryst resulted in a lovely litter of 7 puppies, 4 remained in Holland, 2 went to Switzerland and 1 to Finland.

From the moment we met, and I put her on my lap, Yasera has decided I am her human and for over 2 years she was my shadow, never more than 2 meters from my side. She has more confidence now and sometimes ventures off a little but still no more than 10-20 meters. Well, unless she finds another dog on the beach she can chase ;-) Then she shows that older Silken ladies still can keep up with a Galgo! Too bad she does not like lure coursing but she willingly follows me when I ride the bicycle....

Yasera showing that I am HER human, this photo was taken during our second walk, on the road that runs along Chris' property. She came straight out of the kennel, had to sleep in the VariKennel next to my bed (to get used to it, for the 10hr flight home later on), walk on leash and still she took all in good stride. I can easily say it was love at first sight!

Photo from October 2007, 2 weeks after she was mated to Kristull Elven King. Here she poses with Paladin and their distant cousin, Boyzoi Kansai'z Flying Dutchman. (he shares Stillwater Virginia Reel as ancestor) Yasera measures 53cm/20 7/8 inches, Paladin 66cm/26 inches and Dutchie 87cm/34 inches....

Yasera and her 2-day old puppies. She was an excellent mother and had more than enough milk to feed all 7, probably because she ate almost 1 kg of puppy kibble a day!  ;-)

Ever since I started showing her, Yasera has done nicely in the ring. In Slovenia she received mostly "Excellent" and made it to her SLO Veteran Championship. During the Specialty weekend in Germany (Aug.2010) she was reserve Best Bitch both days. In Hungary she received 2 CACs and 1 BOB with the title HAK W '11. More Vet.Winner titles in 2011 and 2012 and a total of 4 x reserve female, not bad at all, considering her age!

SLO Veteran Ch.Rosette....

Foto
By getting 3x 1Ex in Veteran class, Yasera fulfilled the conditions for the Slovenian Veteran Champion title. Together with the certificate we got a GORGEOUS rosette in green, copper and bronze tones.... Though she is not allowed to be entered in regular Ch.class with this title, it still proves she is considered to be of Ch.quality by at least 3 different judges.....

....not really a small one!

Of the 9 shows we attended in 2010, this one in October was by far the best! Not only was it the very first ISWS Specialty in Slovenia, the hounds were judged by their Founder, Francie Stull. Silkens had come from all over Europe to be judged by Francie, she was delighted to meet Finnish, Dutch, German, British, Austrian and Slovenian Silken Windhounds, all of them descendants of dogs she had bred and exported. Of course there were several Silkens with the Kristull prefix who could not participate in the Specialty. They had their own class and from these 6 Francie gave the rosette for "Kristull BISS" to... Yasera!
