Art
My favourite period in art is the art nouveau, art deco period. Especially the art nouveau from Belgium, with it`s flowing lines. This is (I think) a fire screen, it was standing at the top of the escalator, in the museum of modern art in New York, and it took my breath away. I went down on my knees to take the picture, with people nearly tripping over me but I never noticed.
Furniture
This looks like a very nice chair, very decorative, but uncomfertable to sit on
Rosenburg porcelain
Rosenburg was a small factory in Holland that produced beautiful porcelain, not really for everyday use but more ornamental. The musuem in The Hague has a fairly large collection, coffeesets with different designs, all very fragile. Oh, how I would love to own something as beautiful as this!
The building of the Gemeente mueum in The Hague is art deco, by the architect Berlage, a beautiful building in his own right.

Mondriaan
Everybody knows this painter, these paintings are easy to remember, colourful and symmetric. His earlier work is also very nice, once I saw a still life with green appels, very pleasing to the eye.
Wall decoration
You can find art in the most unepected places. This is a part of the wall decoration in the ladies room one the top floor at Harrods, London. Very art nouveau.
Wall decorations
The Hague has it`s share of art nouveau on the walls of buildings, not as much as Brussels but still, details can be found here and there.
Glass art on the beach
Every year there is a temporary art exhibition on the waterfront in Kijkduin, near Scheveningen This year it is all glass and it looks wonderful in the setting sun.
