Kristull Jasmyn at Bon Zoi'z aka "Daisy", Jan.4 - 2004 / April 28 - 2007, Slovenian Champion
Jasmyn was not only my first Silken Windhound, with her came so many firsts: first Obedience training, first Agility training, first Silken to be mentioned in the biggest all-breed Dutch magazine, the first dog with which I had a breed booth @ the Amsterdam Winner Show, my first hound to do lure-coursing, first Champion, first experience with breeding..... I have had her for only 3 years and 5 days but she taught me so very much.....
It all started when I saw Dee Jones' Silkens on her X-mas card, they looked most attractive so I asked Francie for a little female to keep my new Borzoi puppy company. Everything worked together, Sandra Moore could take her from Texas to Ohio as she too came to the Borzoi Centennial and from there we flew home. From the moment Jasmyn and Dutchie met they were great friends, which they remained until Jasmyn passed away.
Summer 2005 I read about a Silken get-toghether in Slovenia. I decided it would be nice to see more of them so we packed up dogs and caravan, and set off, in the company of a Borzoi friend and her 4 Borzoi. Meeting place was Lendava, in the far East corner of the country where Borzoi and Silken were entered in 2 shows. It was really nice to meet more Silken Windhounds but best part was that Jasmyn as well as Dutchie got 2 CAC's towards the Slovenian title! So a year later we returned and on the day the kennelname was 1 year mine, both Dutchie and Jasmyn finished!
Jasmyn Stats:
Parents: Kristull Theatrical Harlequin (MDR1 clear) & Kristull Nirvana (MDR1 clear)
Height: 56cm/22 inches
MDR1 status: clear
Title: Winner B & P Lendava 2005 & Maribor 2006, Slovenian Champion 2006
Training: had 2 Obedience diplomas + 1 Agility certificate
Miss Jasmyn has won over many people with her charm and sweet nature, she was a positive hit during the 2 days we had the breed booth in Amsterdam! With breeding plans on the way I visited the Finnish Specialty, June 2006, where I found Sarafias Bijan as prospective husband. So, when Jasmyn came into season, Feb.'07, and the vet gave the OK, Bijan was taken to a Helsinki vet so his sperm could be collected, prepared for transport and sent off. We went to the airport, picked up the parcel and went to the clinic for Artificial Insemination. An exiting time, especially when the ultra sound showed 5 little "blobs"..... But is was not to be, only 2 pups remained, one got stuck in the birth canal and died, meanwhile poisoning her brother and mother so at the end of that 28th of April I was left empty handed.....
Jasmyn will always have her own place in my heart, never to be forgotten as it all started with her.......

Baby Jasmyn enjoying the out door mattress. It was a pleasant place to rest in between the romping with Dutchie..

August 2004
I had already contacted Regina in Switzerland as I had been told she too had a Silken Windhound so when we planned to enter Dutchie in the Donaueschinger Sighthound shows, Regina and I decided on a meeting (they live @ less than 1 hour from the show grounds).
So here we are, first meeting with Starcastle Hounds Silver Lining.

September 2005, Lendava, Slovenia.
After getting 2x a CAC on Saturday (1 on the CACIB show, 1 on the HRTI club show) Jasmyn did very well on the lure coursing on Sunday. Here she runs in company of Sarafias Asrai but Jasmyn got most points and was the very first Silken to get the Prize for Beauty & Performance in Slovenia!

Spring 2006
Regina had told me her Silver Lining did great in Obedience class once he was 18mos old. With this in mind I started Jasmyn when she was 2 yrs and I have to say, she did very well. In addition to the usual excercises of "stand, "sit", "down", "stay" and heel, we had various obstacles from Agility.
Here Jasmyn shows her movement on the cat walk. She finished her class as 3rd of well over 20 dogs...

Autumn 2006
Bacause she liked jumping so much, I started Jasmyn in an Agility class. First on leash, later off she had great fun mastering the obstacles. The only one she disliked was the collapsable tunnel but hurdles, A-frame and catwalk, already known from Obedience, were her favourites.

Being the good friends they were, Jasmyn cleaned Dutchie's ears and he took care of hers..
Often Jasmyn would lie op top of Dutchie but if he moved she would get very cross with him. Poor Dutchie did not dare to move a whisker when she was so near...

October 2006
One Sunday we were invited to participate in a lure-coursing training and there we met another small, longhaired sighthound. It turned out to be Désie, the first and only Longhaired Whippet in Holland. Of course we had to take photos of the ladies, it was a special encounter! Little Désie was just 5mos old but she always remained a lot smaller than Jasmyn.

Christmas 2004
Of course we had to take an X-mas photo of Jasmyn in the Santa hat too, the antlers did not fit her... This hat was too big as well but by quick acting the photo could be taken before it slipped off... |
Christmas 2006
Jasmyn was given this silly little Santa hat so for the Christmas photos she had to pose. She did so willingly though I did not have the idea she was really taken with the idea. But it was always better than antlers! ;-) |

Jasmyn at her last lure-coursing, she had a wonderful day as there were 2 rounds to go, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
